Hyde Park Volleyball: Amazing Season!

On and off the court, the HP High School Volleyball Program makes an impact!
The Lady Panthers started their 2015 season strong with 10 of 13 returning varsity players. This outstanding team finished district with a 6-2 record and currently holds a 26-14 overall record. “The dynamics and chemistry of this team is unrivaled by any of the teams I have coached in the past 5 years. Even with multiple injuries, our team has pulled together well for each match. I expect this team to make it deep into playoffs and our team goal is to make it to the final four,” stated Varsity Head Coach Renee Blanchard.  With Coach Blanchard’s strong leadership, the Hyde Park Varsity Volleyball Team defeated Brook Hill of Bullard in the first round of playoffs. Coach Blanchard stated after the victory, “Our team is playing with such passion, leadership, unity and drive - I am very proud of these girls!” Next, the Lady Panthers progressed to the regional round of playoffs and defeated opponent Frisco Legacy Christian in Waco.  The Lady Panthers finished their season in the state playoffs in a match against Lubbock Trinity Christian.

Along with their strong efforts on the courts, the Lady Panthers also make a difference off the court. On October 6, the Lady Panther Volleyball Program hosted their “Think Pink!” event. With two JV teams and the Varsity team working together, they raised over $5000! The funds raised were donated to the Seton Breast Care Center. Congratulations to the Lady Panthers on an outstanding district season, and to Seniors Karlie Nixon and Kennedy Patch for leading this important project for Hyde Park Athletics!
