The goal of Parent University is to educate, equip, and enlist parents to combat today’s outside forces that are facing youth, so that our young people can develop into tomorrow’s Christian leaders. It is our desire that parents learn ways to lead their children in these difficult times through connected conversations, deliberate decision-making, and helping our children to stay accountable and Christ-centered in practical ways.
Parent University will provide relevant training and seminars, with experts throughout the community. Parent University will also extend the opportunity to participate in small groups for parents to connect with one another and get to know each other. These groups will provide a more personal, confidential setting to understand the individual challenges that each family faces pertaining to the topics we will cover.

Dr. Nicole Fitzpatrick Director of Counseling, Licensed Psychologist
Dr. Nicole Fitzpatrick has served as Director of Hyde Park Counseling Center since 2006. She received her Ph.D and Masters Degree from the University of Texas in Austin in the area of Educational Psychology. Her passion is working with individuals who struggle with anxiety and depression through discipleship, counseling, and assessment. The heart of her ministry is rooted in Galatians 2:20, “that we have been crucified with Christ and it is no longer we who live, but Christ who lives in us.” How does one live that out? She helps others ponder that very question in an authentic way to experience freedom in their relationship with Jesus, others, and inside their own heads and hearts.
Growing up in southern California, Nicole feels at home in the sunny climate of central Texas which she has called home for the last 19 years. Nicole is married to a native Austinite, and life is definitely full with their two young sons Hudson and Caden. For fun, she enjoys exploring new restaurants in Austin in pursuit of the perfect spicy tuna roll, Friday family movie nights, and hosting friends to gather around the table for food and lots of laughter.
