Hyde Park’s Kindergarten Program Encourages Creativity!
The circus came to town and graced the hallways of Hyde Park’s Speedway Campus this fall.
From dancing bears to prancing ponies, from colorful clowns to charming chimpanzees, Hyde Park’s students brightened the classrooms and the stage at the HP Kindergarten Circus! Ms. Teresa Crews and Ms. Aubrey Kirkpatrick led this colorfully clad team of characters as they entertained the cheering audiences of students, parents, and friends! As a part of the curriculum for Kindergarten students each fall, Hyde Park includes innovative hands-on learning experiences including units with performance opportunities. The HP Kindergarten Circus encourages the creativity of young minds through music and a fine arts-style production. Ms. Crews reflected on the event, “When preparing for the circus, we help our students understand teamwork and what it takes to put a show together. During this unit, we introduce the fruits of the Spirit and help students see opportunities to practice patience and kindness with one another!” Hyde Park’s well-rounded Kindergarten program includes hands-on learning in a Christ-centered, small classroom environment with caring, certified teachers. Each week, HP Kindergarten students also enjoy a full slate of enrichment classes including art, library, computer, music, P.E. and Spanish.
