Hyde Park Senior Ryan Neville Joins Athletics Programs at the University of St. Thomas

Hyde Park celebrated with Senior Ryan Neville in the Quarries Library as he signed with the University of St. Thomas in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
Ryan will be playing football and running track for St. Thomas, an NCAA Division III school and a member of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Hyde Park Head Varsity Football Coach Dean Campbell and HP Head Varsity Track Coach Bob Brandon, along with several of Ryan’s assistant coaches, his family and friends were present at the signing to congratulate him. In the fall, Ryan looks forward to joining the strong football program under the leadership of Head Coach, Glenn Caruso.  Hyde Park’s Coach Campbell stated, “I was thrilled that Ryan chose St. Thomas with a priority on its academics, because the school has the line of study he wants to pursue.  We always want academics to be the focus and priority for our student athletes.  St. Thomas is a great football program and we are also excited that he will be running track for this university.  I am confident that Ryan is headed toward a successful experience as a student athlete at St. Thomas.”

When asked about the future, Ryan added, “I’m planning to major in International Business or Political Science, both of which are excellent areas of study at St. Thomas. Many of the football players at St. Thomas also run track, and I’m looking forward to both experiences.  Because I have family in the area and have spent a lot of time there, I’ve known about St. Thomas my entire life.  I am excited about joining this great program and looking forward to many new experiences in Saint Paul.” Ryan was congratulated by his mom and dad, Kerri and Tom Neville, as well as his younger brother, Alec.  Tom Neville reflected, “We really appreciate the leadership of the Hyde Park Athletic Program.  The HP Coaches have taught Ryan that hard things are worth achieving, which is a lesson he can take throughout his life.  God put him in the right program at the right time with the right coaches.” Kerri Neville added, “We’ve been so blessed by this community at Hyde Park.  Everyone has had a hand in Ryan’s success, in academics and in athletics.”
