Hyde Park's Brandt Peterson Signs with Rice

On National Signing Day, the Hyde Park Community gathered to celebrate with Senior Brandt Peterson as he signed to play football at Rice University.
Peterson will join the Rice Owls under the leadership of Head Coach David Bailiff.  Along with success on the football field and in the classrooms at Hyde Park, Brandt also excelled in extracurricular programs including Varsity Soccer as well as HPHS Fine Arts. HP Head Football Coach Dean Campbell stated, “We are really excited for Brandt to get this opportunity at Rice University. Brandt will be joining Matt Terrill, another Hyde Park graduate at Rice. They will both be working in the offensive line. We know that Brandt will represent Hyde Park well both on the field and in the classroom as he works toward one of the most prestigious educations in our country.” Brandt plans to study Political Science at Rice with interests in both Law and Entrepreneurship. One of Brandt’s favorite courses at Hyde Park was AP U.S. History. When asked about football, Brandt stated, “I’ve learned respect and discipline through HP football and I am looking forward to being a part of the fellowship of the team and the football program at Rice.” Hyde Park congratulates Brandt and his family on this honor as he joins Rice University.  Click here to link to National Signing Day coverage by TWCNews (select the Part II video - Brandt's coverage is near the end of this video story).
